Facebook shuts down @facebook.com email service after the company admitted that ‘most people’ have not been using the product.
Facebook launched it’s email service at the end of 2010. As part of that new system, every Facebook user got an @facebook.com email address.
Now @facebook.com Mail users are getting a notification letting them know that the service is shutting down and will be forwarding their emails to the primary provided email address on their accounts.
Potential problem : - Sending an email to someone’s @facebook.com email account will forward that email straight to their main email inbox (which is used as primary email for their facebook profiles) , this could potentially be a huge hit for spammers as they can guess your Facebook email just by looking at your public Facebook username.
